4 microfiltration systems you need to know

Introduction: What is microfiltration?

Microfiltration is one of the most efficient predictive maintenance procedures. With it, it is possible to avoid failures and premature wear of the machinery, besides increasing its useful life. In today’s post, you will learn more about microfiltration systems and their importance.

One of the factors that most impair the performance of lubricating oil is the presence of small particles. In a filtration process, it is not possible to identify very small solid contaminations. Microfiltration systems, in turn, guarantee more effective retention, with the capture of particles up to two microns in size.

During the process, the fluid passes through a set of filters capable of completely eliminating the contaminating particles. Microfiltration is an Australian oil filtration technology capable of retaining approximately 900 grams of solid contaminants and also removing sludge from the fluid. Contrary to what many people think, even new oils need to undergo the microfiltration procedure, since they already come naturally contaminated from the manufacturer.

Microfiltration systems

All equipment is contaminated by the natural process of the operation, and about 30% of the contaminated oil remains in the lines and in the sub-compartments. Among the problems generated by the lack of microfiltration, there are failures of pumps and valves, loss of efficiency caused by internal leaks and loss of productivity. To avoid such problems, it is important to know the different microfiltration systems.

  • EMBARKED OR FIXED MICROFILTRATION SYSTEM

This system serves the supply points where the fleet is confined, with the use of a common supply point, such as trains and “plant” or “skid” stations. The Embedded or Fixed Microfiltration System guarantees the supply of clean fuel for the adequate supply of equipment.

  • DIESEL MICROFILTRATION SYSTEM APPLIED ONLINE

The Diesel Microfiltration System is installed in the fuel injection line. Applicable to electronic and mechanical engines, this system is modular and offers protection to the components of the injection system, in addition to ensuring the protection of the equipment’s injection system against contamination by solid particles.

  • HYDRAULIC OIL MICROFILTRATION SYSTEMS

The Hydraulic Oil Microfiltration Systems, in turn, have application embedded in the equipment and cover the entire hydraulic circle of the equipment. These systems guarantee a clean system at all times, with a continuous process while the equipment is in operation. It is a modular system and has a quick collection valve.

  • MOBILE DIALYSIS SYSTEM

Finally, there is the Hydraulic Dialysis System, developed especially for the analysis of lubricating oils, with maximum efficiency in the shortest possible time. Tal filtragem tem como objetivo retirar as partículas contaminantes, que geram falhas nos equipamentos. It is a procedure that performs the filtering in the form of gradual and continuous dialysis and that allows a high degree of cleaning of the system.

The benefits of microfiltration

Like other predictive maintenance tools, microfiltration has important benefits for companies. With it, it is possible to avoid wear, reduce maintenance costs, ensure greater availability of the machine, in addition to extending the component’s useful life. Microfiltration systems also make it possible to reuse oil, which results in less costs for the company and less aggression to the environment.
